Happy Independence Day!

Well we had one jam-packed, blueberry pie-filled, ice cream-topped weekend, and here are some pictures to show what I mean. On Independence Day, after I recovered from a night shift, we drove to Aunt Kathy and Uncle Mick's place to celebrate what was left of the day. Even though we only had a few hours, it was a very relaxing time. It was a perfect night to make home-made ice cream, eat perfectly grilled salmon, and sit out in the shade. Thanks Kathy and Mick!
The next day was my Grandpa's 92nd birthday party. After helping my Mom and Dad prepare for the party, we were ready for a nap, but there was none to be had. Actually, this was more of a family reunion than a simple party (that's my Mom and Dad for you). It was great to see so many people from both sides of our family. The day was filled with lots of good food, swimming, good food, conversing with good company, good food, campfire and s'mores, hot tubbing, and more good food! I gained at least 10 lbs. But then I think I worked it all off after cleaning up the next day. What a great weekend- we're already looking forward to next year!
