School Pics

One of Nate's teachers graduated in photography. Thus our school pics are not your typical pics :) I thought these were fun. Not sure which is my favorite yet - they are all "Nate."

Engineering Feats and Amazing Artistic Displays

Nate has discovered the world of Legos. The first picture is a Halloween house that shoots out the candy from the spinning windmill. The antenna on top detects the approaching children.

Here is a car that has the ability to "be safe" going around corners.

This is just a funny picture. Elin is mad that I told her not to touch Nate's rocks. It was the first time I have gotten "that" look from Elin. I think Jase and I are in trouble.

Smile!

Nate loves to put on a big smile for the camera. Here are some of the cupcakes we made for school snack tomorrow. He was really proud of them.

We were trying to take a picture of Elin and Jason was pointing to his cheeks behind me. Here are the various versions. I can't honestly decide which one is the cutest!

Candy and Sharks and Dinos Oh My!

Nate was so excited to go trick or treating. We didn't get to go to the trunk or treat on Wed due to sickness. Since this was the only candy acquiring outing we were going on, the minutes until the clock struck four was a truly agonizing experience - sheer torture made just for the poor great white. I should contact the CIA.

Elin wasn't really sure what was going on. I think she thought had really thought the whole world had gone nuts. Adults were handing out candy! She picked up on "Twick o' Tweet" and a "Tank you" rather quickly.






Pumpkin carving - we had two opposites. Nate loved digging in there and Elin wouldn't even get near an open pumpkin - "Yucky -NO." She opted for markers.



We even got to go Karate in our costume. Who knew sharks could do karate.

Family Fun Night!

Nate made it to his 100 marbles on his listening jar. He and Jase went to a movie and then we all met up for fun and then tacos! Here is some of the fun.

Farm Fun!

We had a fun visit to a nearby farm that pulls out all the stops in the Fall. It was sort of a crummy day, but that actually turned out great as there were no crowds! In addition to the pics below, they also have apple orchards and the best apple pies you've ever had (we're enjoying ours now), and we picked out some pumpkins for the kids.

I think Elin would love to have a pet goat at home.

Chocolate and Dinosaurs

We in our house like chocolate. Like is probably an understatement - at least as far as Jason is concerned. ;) Elin appears to be following in the same foot steps. Here father and daughter bonding over a bowl of chocolate batter.


Nate has been doing some fun things lately. I came around the corner the other evening and he was sorting all the dinosaurs into species and then lining them up in rainbow order- well for the most part.

You never know...

One of the best parts about raising kids, as everyone with children knows, is to listen to them as they increase their vocabulary... funny phrases, invented words... you know the drill.

Not long ago Nate learned what a calculator was. He was fascinated it could do all of his adding and subtracting for him, and he wanted to keep it. "Uhmmmmmm... no" I think was my reply. After some explanation of why he couldn't use a calculator yet, he finally gave up and forgot about it, or so I thought.

The other day we were all together and Nate was working with numbers... counting something I think. Then out of nowhere he says, "Guys, we need a copulator. Where's the copulator?"

You never know what's going to come out of their mouths next.
