Last week we did our first ever family road-trip, and I am happy to announce it was a great success! We drove out to D.C., spent 4 days there, and drove back home- total time 8 days. We really had a great time, saw friends and family, had no major mishaps, and learned about our nation's capital and history. Below are some pics of our night spent at a waterpark in Sandusky, OH on our way out to D.C. Over the next few days I'll post some pics of the rest of the trip. Enjoy!
Nate and Elin live for waterparks (like all children, I'm sure). They had a blast, and would've been perfectly happy to stay here the entire week.
Elin was a little small for some of the park equipment, but had no problems managing the rope-web climb to the top of the park play area (I predict our children will both be rock climbers later in life).
Nate was a blur most of the time. The "walking" rule went right out the window, as much as we tried to enforce it. It was like he had to try everything there in the first 5 minutes.
I was surprised to see Elin so willing to do the big waterslides by herself (with me catching her at the end, of course). No fear, that little one.
To Nate, it wasn't a "lazy river", but more of a racing river.
It was so funny to see him stretch as long as he could to reach the rope and put his feet on the platforms- but he made it!
Nate and Elin thought it was so cool to have their own "Kid's Cabin"- a room within our hotel room. They slept hard that night.
