Go Lance!

At first when I heard about Lance Armstrong's comeback to cycling, I was excited but a little skeptical. After all, history has shown us that most athletic comebacks go sour (Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan's 2nd comeback, Brett Farve, etc...).

Then I watched Lance in his first comeback race in the Tour Down Under, where he rode against the best riders in the world. He wasn't trying to win, but he had NO problems hanging with the group. Then, on the last of 5 days of riding, Lance showed his power. On the last leg of the day, he put the pedal down and bridged the gap between the pelaton and the lead group, leaving everyone else behind him. The gap was small, but still no one could stay with him.

Again, Lance didn't win the race, but he wasn't really trying as I think this was more of a step in training for the next Tour de France. Next step: Tour of California on Feb. 14th. Keep your helmets on, it's gonna be a fun ride!
